Help Pets Find Homes Post Harvey and Irma
Since just after Labor Day, Cypress Creek Pet Care has been hosting 26 of these dogs. Only two have found their owners.
Most of the dogs came to us with upper respiratory infecti
ons, eye discharge, sneezing and coughing. Many had skin infections and wounds. About half had to be treated for intestinal parasites. One has heartworms. One small labrador mix needs surgery on his knee to repair his ligaments. All are improving. The doctors and technicians have been working hard to get them all vaccinated and on their way to health.
Our entire staff has come together to do his or her part. To assist these pets in their recovery, we volunteered one of our kennel wards to Operation Reunite, a program between the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and the Houston SPCA.
Some have been bathing, grooming, and walking dogs during their free time. Our newest doctor, Christina Morelli, DVM, has come in on her day off to work on the majority of the dogs. Thankfully, the Houston SPCA has all of the dogs listed on their website and there are ways you can help!
After October 30, if their owners have not been found, we will need to start fostering and adopting the dogs.

I am new to Cedar Park and needed to find a new vet for my pets, one of whom has special needs. As soon as I took the tour, I was hooked. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, and the cleanest vet clinic I've been in.-Chelaine
