Pet Preventive Care in Cedar Park TX Services

Cedar Park Pet Preventive Care Exams

Pet preventive care exams are vital to the health and happiness of your pet. They allow us to establish baseline health characteristics specific to your pet, and provide an opportunity to catch small health issues in their early stages before they develop into serious and expensive medical conditions.

Our pet preventive care exams include:

  • A thorough physical inspection of the ear canals and eardrums
  • Evaluation of your pet’s eyes and vision
  • Inspection of the teeth and gums
  • Palpation of the lymph nodes and abdominal organs
  • Evaluation of your pet’s heart and lungs
  • Examination of the fur and skin
  • Blood tests
  • Fecal screening
  • Vaccinations

Cedar Park Puppy and Kitten Preventive Care

Puppy and KittenPuppies and kittens have special preventive care needs to address their growth stage. We recommend puppy and kitten preventive care exams begin as soon as you bring home your new pet.

In addition to our preventive care exam, we are available to answer any questions you may have regarding your new pet including:

  • Nutrition
  • House breaking/litter box training
  • Behavior

Cedar Park Senior Pet Preventive Care

Senior PugPets age much more rapidly than their owners do. Once your pet turns 7 years old, they can be considered a senior pet. We recommend senior pets receive biannual preventive care exams to carefully monitor their health, and to catch small health issues before they develop into severe health problems.

We can also discuss any changes in your aging pet such as:

  • Less active
  • Painful or stiff movements
  • Weight changes
  • Behavior changes

Pet Vaccinations

Yellow Lab PuppyPet vaccinations are a safe and easy way to protect your pet against harmful and potentially life-threatening disease. We understand that your pet is unique, and our veterinary team will develop a vaccination schedule and ongoing booster routine that accounts for your pet’s lifestyle, overall health, risk for exposure to infectious disease, and other factors.

Core Canine Vaccinations

We recommend an annual review of your dog’s vaccinations and administer boosters when necessary. This ensures your pet will receive the maximum protection from their vaccinations.

Core Feline Vaccinations

Core vaccinations for cats provide protection against harmful and potentially deadly disease. Both indoor and outdoor cats can benefit from vaccination.

Pet Microchipping: The Path to a Quick Return of Your Lost Pet

Pet Microchipping Benefits

Cypress Creek Pet Care offers pet microchipping services for dogs and cats of all ages. Pet microchipping is a safe, simple, effective, and permanent form of identification. They are ideal for indoor pets who may not wear a collar.

Additionally, they provide an added level of security in the event your pet’s collar or identification tag becomes damaged or broken.

Pet Microchip Implantation

demo image placement-cat being petThe microchip is approximately the size and shape of a grain of rice. It is placed underneath your pet's skin between the shoulder blades. Microchip implantation takes only a few minutes and is very safe. It is not necessary to perform the implantation under anesthesia, and we can perform the implantation in conjunction with your pet’s preventative care exam. Alternatively, we can also perform the implantation during your pet’s spay or neuter procedure.

Recovery of a Microchipped Pet

Your pet’s microchip contains a unique identification number, which can be read using a hand held scanner found in veterinary hospitals, animal shelters, and animal control offices across the country.

After your pet’s microchip is implanted, you will be provided a registration form to complete which includes your name, address, and contact details. This information is stored in the national pet recovery database, and can easily be updated if your contact details change. A quick scan and a phone call to the pet recovery database provides all of the necessary information to reunite you and your pet.
